BLM and Biden/Handlers wanted this to happen. Various cities including Minneapolis and NYC actually did so. They didn't care about all of the obvious crime that would result. They didn't care as the death counts racked up. But then the Dems did their internal polling and saw what a bloodbath the 2022 midterm elections were going to be and voila: flip flop and blame the other side for thei ractions. Shameless.
