submit a $3.8 trillion spending plan when revenue is expected to be $2.5 trillion.
I know that the Republicans are big spenders like the Democrats, but I have generally considered the equation to be R = .8 * D. So, even if Romney gets in and submits a $3.1 trillion budget, it would be an improvement.
The likelihood that any of them would submit smaller spending plans than Obama makes them instantly better than Obama.
I saw one report that Obama was cutting the defense budget by 3.6%. That's not enough...and defense is my first priority for the government, so it hurts to say that, but we are at the point where very good programs need to be cut immediately. We should implement a 3.6% cut across the board--every department. Or, how about a 20% cut across the board--every department.
