WSJ college rankings:ND#17 - only metric that keeps ND out of top 10..."diversity". In other words:

ND is a kick ass school by every important metric. Factors assessed in ranking:

Salary Impact
Grad Rate
Years to Pay Off Net Price
Learning Opportunities
Preparation For Career
Learning Facilities
Character Development
Recommendation (% of grads who would recommend their school to others)
Diversity

ND scored as high as even the top schools in all of these metrics except Diversity (52% - well below Yale's 86%....and grad rate 80% - good but not elite like ND's other metrics...this latter surprised me as it is an outlier, and I know ND has an excellent grad rate. But they don't give it out without producing. This latter metric is certainly influenced to some degree by ND's robust athletic department)

So basically, ND doesn't play the DEI game on admissions as much as the Ivies, and they don't rubberstamp their diplomas to those who get in. The ivies are rewarded for both of these metrics.
In every important way, ND compares equally with the top Ivies.
