Not sure what the stereotype is

But I can tell you that, at least in OH, it is considered a great school, with a high out-of-state student population. There are a ton of Chicago area kids that go there. They call themselves a 'public Ivy' which is a bit pretentious. Flat out gorgeous campus with all red brick buildings. Charming little college town of Oxford, not far from the IN border.
