The US recognizes it as part of Israel. Israel's held it for almost 60 years, and won't retrurn it.
They treat it very differently than the West Bank and Gaza. Israel is willing to give up those territories, but not the Heights.
I just thought it was odd for CNN to go out of its way to call it out in such a huge map, when it is totally unrelated to the conflict. Seemed a bit anti-Israel.
No need for us to fight over this. Minor observation by me.
