strawman argument. I argue quite the opposite, thus the need for me to vote for someone like Trump after the Biden experience for four years. Trump's administration was a well-oiled machine in comparison to the Afghanistan pullout, the border, response to inflation, the Secret Service debacle, the Chinese spy balloons, the failure of DOJ to identify (or maybe just report) the source of the SCOTUS leak from a very small pool of conceivable suspects, the failure to identify (or maybe just report) the individual who left cocaine in the White House from a similarly tiny pool of conceivable suspects, the failure to assemble a competent Cabinet, the near total absence of firing senior level administration officials beyond the Secret Service Director for the debacles listed above (this never happened in past administrations), the insertion of key personnel from the vice president to the Cabinet to WH spokesperson based upon immutable characteristics which has been a central cause of some of the debacles listed.
The Trump Administration had several glaring instances of incompetency. I wanted DeSantis because he is a committed conservative and his competency is the reason so many lefties despise. He actually puts the ideas they hate into action. So much of what Trump says, from the wall on down, never materializes, and then he does things like fires Jeff Sessions, pushes and signs the First Step Act, and says we may need lockdowns and keeps Fauci around, which DeSantis never would have done. That said, Trump is manifestly preferable to Harris, who is associated with all the incompetence above, but is also unusually lazy, vapid, and someone who isn't taken seriously by anyone but committed partisans. Her polling among independents on this count is abysmal.
