because now they won't be "sunsetting". At the same time, the OMB was not counting on the sunsetting tax structure in any of it's deficit planning. This is part of why the OMB estimate on this bill is overly pessimistic. Further, it does not add in the tariff income as they were never part of the calculations - this is a novel approach by trump in that regard.
Given what had to be done to get this necessary bill across the line to prevent a massive tax increase that would have crippled the economy, I think that it was a pretty decent result.
