The tantalizing idea of regime change is used as further enticement to keep funding the hopeless war. (In the last sentence of this linked post by the person challenging my point since I have found that I need to be very specific)
I only did a very superficial search and stopped at just the first examples.
I am not wrong. I am not lying. I have a good memory. But I have little taste for pushing on - the level of dialogue here has become sad. Again the read the whole thread as well.
