In a two party system like ours, most people vote strategically...

...which is to say, they don't vote for their favorite candidate, they vote against the candidate they like the least. If you hate the whackadoodle anti-family, anti-capitalism, anti-science, pro-violence stuff from Left the most, you vote against them. If you hate the guy who trolls online the most and acts like a cowboy, you vote against him.

Granted, then we all engage in this ridiculous fiction that most people vote for the guy they like, just because they defend him against attack to keep the guy they hate from gaining traction. Was Kamala Harris your goddess? Or, did you vote against Trump? See the point? You don't think that was happening on the right as well? I didn't vote for Trump in the primary; he wasn't my guy...but so many people here pretend otherwise, merely because I defend him from attacks by the party that I deem to be worse for the long term health of the country than the GOP. I don't like him, but he is much better than the alternative, and frankly, he's been better than I expected...we obviously disagree on that.

The bottom line, though, is that we have minority rule in this country. 30% love the GOP; 30% love the Democrats; 40% of the "moderates" dislike them both, but vote strategically rather than for their would be third party. The result is that 70% (30% losing party + 40% moderates) of the country dislike POTUS regardless of who wins. But, please, feel free to pretend that everyone who voted for POTUS, and who defends him now, love and worship the ground he walks on. That was, after all, the point of the linked video: you have a list of people you can hate to feel better about yourself, and you can troll them online like Trump does to you.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.

  • Moderates are the real minority group in today’s world [NT] [LINK] - Curly1918 - 10:33am 6/4/26 (10) [View All]
    • Moderate is another abused term. Its concept is a myth. There is no independent ideology of moderate - Eli - 4:55pm 6/4/26
      • Moderation is antithetical to ideological, which is psychologically RIGID. - Curly1918 - 5:04pm 6/4/26
