I first discovered I didn't like it in kindergarten. I had a nasty teacher named Mrs. Waller (Mrs. Walnuthead to me at the time), whom I will never forgive for how she tormented one of my classmates who was fed Ritalin, and whom she sent daily to the principal, Mr. B, to be paddled. She was only exceeded by my fourth grade teacher, who ate whole sticks of straight butter for lunch and kept about a dozen shoes under her desk.
