Nobody in the history did more good things for poor people than Mao did.

Mao gave the land from the rich to poor peasants in the early 1950s. He expanded rural medical access through the "barefoot doctors" program and therefore raised average life expectancy. He simplified Chinese characters to help more people learn to read and improved literacy of poor people…

But eventually almost all good things he did led to a disaster that every body suffered from it.
