Dr. Tony Fauci...to the point of trivializing the COVID-19 deaths of over 1M Americans...never mind the millions of fellow human beings all over the world. Had it not been for Dr. Fauci laboring with companies like Moderna and Pfizer for years on mRNA technology the toll would have been Much Higher...we would have had to wait years for a vaccine that quite possibly would be much less effective than the 95% results we got in less than 1 yr.

On the lethality estimates...the Seasonal Flu has been shown to have a 0.1% fatality rate, while the previously unknown COVID-19 rate was on the order of 1.76 to 2.5 times higher. Medical professionals, confronted with a deadly virus that can be transmitted by asymptomatic persons have to assume the worst until they fully understand the risk. that's what Dr. Fauci did...throughout the pandemic. Unlike his boss (DJT) who told the American public the disease was no worse than the Seasonal Flu and would go away of its own accord when summer came along.

NOTE: Dr. Fauci never promoted himself like his boss, Donald Trump, did...he never published PR pieces about himself...just did his job...and did it Extremely Well, which is why upon his retirement, the Infectious Disease Society of America, at their annual convention, gave him a sustained standing ovation. A great cap on an Honorable career...recognized by other Presidents of both parties during that career...something that Trump was apparently very jealous of.
