Here's what I found about that quote...

Our family ID Doc, knowing Tony Fauci, and those closest to him, would easily see the context of that quote as nothing more than sarcasm over the efforts by "Bumbling and Incompetent" Trump admin staff trying to discredit him...since he has never, ever conveyed the image of a boastful person over decades in quiet laboratories and clinical rooms.
