Here are some of my thoughts on Fr. Brendan's Homily...

>Using the example of "Rachel"...the 'Uber Mom' on the Parish visit to Turkey and Greece...Fr. B postulates that the women in the "Loaves and Fishes" crowd would very likely have thought ahead and come 'Prepared' for a long trek with family members to listen to Jesus...i.e. food to sustain their own group.
>When the Disciples (Men...who don't quite think like the women) see the immense crowd and 'Do the Math', they worry about causing harm, thinking that no one is 'Prepared' and suggest that Jesus send them away for their own good.
>But Jesus knows better, and uses the opportunity to deliver a message...i.e. if everyone...including the Disciples who have only 5 loaves and 2 fish between them (btw, THEY had at least SOME preparation)...shares what they have (e.g. the small groups with 'Prepared Women') there will be no need to send them away...and it works...Miraculously to the Disciples.
>The fundamental message is the need for "Caring and Sharing" by all of us, and this message resonates through time immemorial...and especially TODAY. Truly a Powerful Message.

Kudos, and Thank You, Fr. Brendan! Another compelling Homily...and Lesson we can take home.
