That's not "Science"...that's covering your own ass when you know you directed funding to the lab in question.

(Please note: I am not saying that funding the lab was necessarily the problem. [Though it may have been, given the lab's behavior post-pandemic re: transparency and security.] The cover-up of a plausible theory at the outset of a world-wide pandemic IS the problem...especially given the motive for doing so.)
