development strikes me as being more serious for college sports than the "One and Done" issue (which I'd like to see made longer). Given the opportunity for fame and fortune for both coaches and players by forming "Super Teams", I'm worried that what we just saw with Baylor will become more commonplace. While I'm not losing any sleep over it, the knowledge of how this contest played out doesn't fill me with admiration for a 'well-developed' team...one in which the coach presciently recruited outstanding talent and then developed them (ala John Wooden) into a remarkable - and admirable - group of champions.
I'm also wondering...given the limits on scholarships...what happened to the players who were recruited by Baylor recently and who would have been on that team. When five transfers suddenly show up in the athletic dorm, how does the coach 'fine room' for them? I may be missing something completely benign, but the scenario is suspect.
On the bigger stage, the question looms...do we have to monetize "Everything"?
