Flynn was never charged with talking to the Russians... just lying about it to the FBI

POLITICO previously reported that lying to the FBI carries a maximum of five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000, but defendants usually get less than the maximum. Judge Sullivan, a Clinton-appointee, is not bound by Flynn's plea agreement which signaled a sentence between zero and six months in custody. Generally you'd get more than this for treason.

  • A low recommended sentence for Flynn means highly valuable cooperation. [NT] - ND521 - 1:28pm 12/4/18 (13) [View All]
    • Or... it might acknowledge the innocuous nature of his "crime" (sic) [NT] - Curly1918 - 3:43pm 12/4/18
      • Really Curly? If HRC had been talking to the Russians in 2008 about lifting sanctions imposed by W - Frank L - 4:44pm 12/4/18

          • That’s what he was charged with in a plea deal. - Frank L - 5:00pm 12/4/18
      • Bullshit. Flynn is a traitor. - Chris94 - 4:42pm 12/4/18
        • I'll bet you he gets less than a year and might even get off without any actual time [NT] - Curly1918 - 4:57pm 12/4/18
          • True....since he flipped. [NT] - Chris94 - 5:09pm 12/4/18
          • Yup. Full co-operation = short sentence & Flynn, Jr. will skate. If not see Manafort, Paul. [NT] - ND521 - 5:01pm 12/4/18
        • Now imagine if that had been HRC in 2008 as opposed to Flynn. [NT] - Frank L - 4:45pm 12/4/18
      • That's a good one. Maybe Don will use the old "innocuous treason" defense. [NT] - ND521 - 4:31pm 12/4/18
    • Then how did Papadopolus only get two weeks? [NT] - Frank L - 2:12pm 12/4/18
