You want your side to be able to "steal signs," but when the other side "steals signs" you want to punish them. The whole Biden-Trump thing is a great example of this.
I say that we should either prohibit sign stealing (and punish all), or recognize that there is no punishment at all for sign stealing. Either way, that makes it fair for both sides. I have lobbied for the former years ago, but now I recognize that you have won, and I have lost. Since the Dems have no intention of punishing their side for sign stealing, then the GOP is justified in adopting their approach to also have no intention of punishing their side for sign stealing. [And yet, I feel like Trump is far more regulated than Obama was in obeying the Constitution...so we aren't even there yet to your nightmare that might show you the value of fairness in the end...right now, this is just politics.]
Don't pretend you want fairness. It is obvious that you do not, because the behavior of the Dems undermines your words. The Dems are driving us to the system you say you oppose. It is not sufficient for you to battle with policy and ideas on a level playing field...you want a systemic advantage...you want a playing field tilted to your advantage. A level playing field is apparently the thing Dems fear most.
