The choice was (a) certain bad policies by HRC vs. (b) unknown Trump who stated some good policies but there was no certainty (at least in my mind) that he would make good on them. But, rolling the dice on the chance of a good outcome was better than a certain bad outcome.
Trump 2020 is a different beast entirely. We now know that his policies are good for the country, and that he will make good on his promises for the most part. It is easier to vote for him now.
Sure, he's still an asshole. And I can't speak for "his base." But, the country is better off electing him for another 4 years...which is a relative thing when comparing him to viable candidates. I know very little about Weld, other than he is not a viable (read: electable) alternative to Trump (which is to say, he will lose the primary). I will be voting on the Dem primary this time around, because the GOP primary is already decided.
