- Clean out your closets. Take all the clothes you haven't worn in 6 months and donate them at the local charity.
- Go buy some new clothes, preferably at a local shop but wherever.
- Take your family and friends out for dinner to local restaurants every night for a week or two. Support the restaurants getting back on their feet. Tip your wait staff mightily.
- Take everyone to a movie or three. It doesn't matter what movie. Buy the big bucket of popcorn and 2L Coke.
- Use Uber or Lyft.
- Go buy a bunch of $10 gift cards to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts (or Tim Horton's if you got 'em), go with your kids to the local Hospital and hand them out to anyone wearing scrubs. A small token of appreciation.
- Book a vacation, maybe a cruise.
Those that are fully employed during this downturn need to aggressively consume during the first few months of the recovery.
