Let's pull back a bit and see the whole forest...we NEED immigrants to backfill our declining Boomer

population and low Birth Rate...otherwise our GDP plummets. History has shown that the vast majority will indeed assimilate. You should know that the Bay Area is a vibrant economic engine with perhaps to most diverse immigrant population in the country...it works. I'v listened to kids of multiple backgrounds talking as they were coming home from H.S. (one of the best in CA, or nation) and if you closed your eyes you could not tell who was European, Chinese, Hispanic, Indian, Pakistani, Vietnamese, etc.
