You're overlooking the obvious...and so is Ms. Shriver..."Progressives" (see Obama/Biden) have
actually produced impactful legislation for the benefit of All Americans...the ACA, which most Red States embrace (see KY's "KYnect)...Dodd-Frank, to protect the nation from the effects of rampant Laissez-Faire financial impropriety...long overdue Infrastructure Funding...a sweeping Senate Border Security and Immigration Bill...and previous to those two admins, Clinton/Gore's bipartisan work on achieving a net budget Surplus and Deficit Reduction.
Contrast those achievements with today's Trump 'administration'...Absolutely Nothing, other than a clear rejection of Bipartisanship as it hurtles toward Authoritarianism.
As for the author, she seems a bit 'Conflicted'...changes her name from Margaret to Lionel because of "Tom Boy" leanings...but very much against others who are Trans. Then, regarding racism, she says she sees value in a 'fairer society' for all, but strongly opposes immigration...I can see why you picked her.
