By deceiving voters with another candidate of the same name as their opposition candidate that they put on the ballot, Democrats are depriving these voters of the right to vote for the person that they intended to vote for. Thus, they are deriving these people of their intended vote which means that Dems have disenfranchised them. It is at least as accurate of a use of the term as what you have used over the years.

From Merriam Webster Dictionary:
"disenfranchise
verb
dis·en·fran·chise ˌdis-in-ˈfran-ˌchīz
disenfranchised; disenfranchising; disenfranchises
Synonyms of disenfranchise
transitive verb

: to deprive of a franchise, of a legal right, or of some privilege or immunity
especially : to deprive of the right to vote"

How many convolutions must you go through to pretend that the definition is not applicable here?
Is that your professor tick that you play on freshman? Tell them that they don't understand the definition of a properly used word, and let them try to figure out a way that they might have been wrong? Pretty sad.
