I use the stats myself purely to argue for isolating at risk individuals rather than low risk

and I have consistently said that from the start. This is how our medical community has managed all such epidemics in the past.

But given the unknowns, I was willing to play it safe for a while. But the data available now is very clear that we should handle it that way, and the only thing holding us back is an election where half the population wants to take advantage of the damage that COVID could do to Trump.

My comment about actual deaths to COVID specifically was in the context of Chris’ post and how he used his data. I wanted to point out to him that using his standard in his post, he should have been all over Obama for H1N1, but was not. I also was making the glass half full argument to his use of the numbers to induce fear.

The virus is no joke to at risk people. But the rest of the country needs to move on because the cure is far worse than the disease at this point.

      • And without the Covid those fatalities without the other 'complications' would still be here. - golfernot - 7:29pm 8/31/20
        • No, many would succumb from the comorbidites anyways (cancer, renal failure, etc), others would - BaronVonZemo - 7:49pm 8/31/20
