IMO it worked reasonably well, but after a few washings, it doesn't fit that well anymore, so

I'm sticking with the surgical mask for any encounters that approach 6 ft. BTW, just heard that our family ICU Doc has ~40 people in the hospital's COVID ward...they're quite busy...in addition, our state posted a map of relative COVID cases by county...we're not doing too well, so Thanksgiving will be 'Householders Only' this year.
