- if you can’t hit a curveball, catch a pass across the middle or make a jump shot. People who play WestCoastIrishFan 5:31pm · 11/22/20
  - You're off base. NDavenue 6:39pm · 11/22/20
    - I was watching the PA state high school championship games on the tube yesterday. Frank L 7:10pm · 11/22/20
      - Exactly the problem with US soccer. It's child like.NT NDavenue 7:12pm · 11/22/20
  - It thrives in socialist and communist countries. Aragoto 6:21pm · 11/22/20
  - Man you hit the nail on the head. I had to take soccer in gym at ND when I was there. I played THEISMANCARR 6:11pm · 11/22/20

      - True and yes definitely not up to date.NT THEISMANCARR 7:14pm · 11/23/20
    - The US would dominate int'l soccer if our best athletes played it instead of foot/base/basket ball.NT NedoftheHill 6:47pm · 11/22/20
      - Lol. That's funny. They would still suck.NT NDavenue 7:02pm · 11/22/20

No basis to believe that. If our best athletes played soccer from day one, we would dominate. NedoftheHill 10:28pm · 11/22/20

I just don’t see it. There is much more to it than being a good athlete. Same in any sport. NDavenue 11:23pm · 11/22/20

Sounds like we might actually agree here. NedoftheHill 12:37am · 11/23/20

Ahh. Yeah, I think we agree for the most part. One other thing... NDavenue 7:47am · 11/23/20

Exactly. Our team is plenty athletic. Only the African nations may be better there. Frank L 7:04pm · 11/22/20

I'm suggesting that we would have the technique, training and culture if soccer were our #1 sport. NedoftheHill 10:28pm · 11/22/20

        That’s a better point. Best athletes many times aren’t best players.NT Frank L 11:28pm · 11/22/20

Yep. And "Best Athletes" doesn't even necessarily describe the NFL or NBA. NDavenue 7:10pm · 11/22/20

B.S. Imagine our wide receivers, cornerbacks, with serious foot skills. Again, we'd dominate. NedoftheHill 10:31pm · 11/22/20

Some of them could be inside or outside backs were you need more athleticism and less skill.NT Frank L 7:24pm · 11/22/20

Maybe. But, there is little substitute for soccer intelligence. NDavenue 7:52pm · 11/22/20

By a very small group of people who don't really know the sport. NedoftheHill 10:33pm · 11/22/20
