So just for fun and testing your capacity for understanding but I'm not sure you can see the analogy. Here's an old French sailor song (le 31 août) following the defeat of the british frigate Kent (1200 tonneaux) by the capitaine Surcouf abord La Confiance(490tonneaux).
Beside the song, there is a famous exchange between the british Admiral who said : you French fight only for money but we fight for honor and Surcouf replied : we both fight for what we don't have.
