Well, we actually do.
Traffic violations is the easiest example to offer. You don't have to intend to speed. Speeding is a strict liability offense. If you did the act, you are guilty.
Intent to commit a crime is not required in a statutory rape case. You don't have to prove that concensual sex with a minor was intended, only that consensual sex occurred (the intended legal act) and that one party was a minor (no intent necessary).
Do those two cases change the above principles?
