You don't think the private sector would step in if federal funds were cut for the Kennedy Center? I think the private sector would step up. If it won't, then maybe it isn't worth the money.
We are spending $1.8 trillion that we don't have, every year. Maybe "the arts" is a luxury we can't currently afford. Let's balance the budget, then we can talk about supporting the arts with tax dollars.
