Even large Charter Schools fall victim to Grade Inflation...looking around, it appears to be rooted
in 'Economics'...i.e. the extreme wealth gap we have in this country. Wealthier kids get quality day care from the start, and then as they grow up they get special coaching in reading and math...followed by SAT/ACT Prep Tutoring...advantages that poorer kids have no hope of ever seeing. It's not that they are less intelligent...
As a society that should maximize its 'Human Capital', it makes sense for government to see to it that such needed assistance is more evenly spread...and Assured...so we don't let potential excellence die on the vine. The term I like to use is "Enlightened Self Interest"...i.e. Everyone Wins.
