No preview, no prediction. European soccer season opener is always less spectacular than football.

It is always this way - less hype in soccer season opening, not just on this anti-soccer board, It's also expected even in soccer-crazy countries. Because

1. Businesswise football does a better business than soccer. Football is run by better businessmen. But that's where I don't like football. Too business-like, somehow disconnected with grassroot fans. Football team is not a club (except college football teams which certainly are like a club).

2. It's also soccer's fault. Every season starts early when people are still in their summer vacation or summer home projects. This year is especially earlier due to world cup in November.

3. Again, it's soccer's fault. Off-season transfer usually ends after the season already starts for 2 or 3 games. What a strange, messy season opening.

My 2 cents before season opener.
