Well, the all-electric fire truck is a smashing success in Canada.

Massive range of 18 miles, and it carries a backup diesel engine if/when it runs out of juice.

If you live in Vancouver, maximize step up your game in terms of fire extinguishers (not sure if they're still legal), contraband fire grenades, and a hose in case of a fire. Just hold...the firefighters will get there...eventually.
