Timeline is in the linked article, where a Black student and his accomplices were shoplifting wine from Gibson's Bakery (run by a very nice family, by the way). Arrests and charges were made, but the liberal Dean Raimondo pulled a Duke Lacrosse on the bakery, falsely accusing them of racism, and rallying the students to attack the business.

The Gibsons won a big judgement against Oberlin College, to the tune of tens of millions, and the College kept stalling, hoping that the owner would die from pancreatic cancer before anything could be rendered.

Too bad for Oberlin College, though, that the Ohio Supreme Court forced them to pay, and the finally paid up.

All of this could have been avoided if the whackjobs at Oberlin would simply have gathered the facts first, and made logical decisions, instead of using this as an opportunity to assault an innocent business.

Shame on Oberlin College, but in the end, the higher ups won't suffer any consequences, since they'll simply raise tuition to cover this judgement.
