They started 4 seniors plus Jackie Young, all of whom left for the WNBA. Prior to the 2020 season, they had two more young women transfer and lost Vaughn to a knee injury and Prohaska to blood clots in both lungs. (both are back this year). Essentially, they went into last year missing the top 9 players from the previous year, No team can overcome that, even one coached by a Hall of Famer.
Whether Ivey was a mistake or can bring it back remains to be seen. She does need to be given more than 10 or 11 games, though.
