It was like a tournament game. Great back and forth throughout. Youngstown St. is as athletic as hell, and they just didn't quit.
Player summaries:
1. Dana Goodwin: 20 & 7. Really made up for a rough outing against Radford.
2. Laz: 14 & 10. He's so much better than last year.
3.J.J. Starling🌟 : 17 pts. Man, did he come up big late in the game with a reverse layup and two threes.
4. Cormac Ryan: 13 pts. He lacked the athleticism to stop the blazing quick guards, but he made up for it with key points.
5. Trey Wertz: 15 pts. and is doing a good job at the point until Hammond gets back.
6. Ven Lubin: 9 pts., a couple of blocks, and a big three.
Lack of size, and therefore, a hard time getting rebounds, will be the Achilles Heel. Also, a 7 man rotation will limit this team; however, they're a spirited bunch who should win more than their fair share of games. BTW, all five ND starters were in double figures.
Once again, that was a hell of a game, and a hell of a win.
Go Irish!
