calls and no replay. We were outplaying them badly in 1990 and would have cinched the game had not Andre Jones dropped a pick six when we were still up big and dominating. And Rocket did not play the second half of the 1990 game due to a hamstring strain. Thank God that was ruled a catch in 1992. In 1982 we were pushing them around but Ken Karcher could not complete a pass that day and they made a big play when the game was close with a little pass to their tailback that went for 50 yards. If you had watched that game though we were literally dominating the line of scrimmage in their national championship year. The others I mentioned we dominated even more. Blair Kiel cost us 1983 with a punt of about 12 yards that would have made them drive the length of the field if he hit it 40, and they scored with I think 12 seconds remaining. We had about 600 yards that game as Pinkett went wild and Bavaro was stopped on a pass at the goal line at the end of the first half by a 5'7" defensive back that probably would have been ruled a touchdown with replay. We ran a QB sneak the play after that and Beuerlein was probably in too.
