Why would most of the LSU players get infected while most Irish players did not?

And if LSU has herd immunity without any serious medical consequences for the players (and apparently the students as well)... were the athletic lockdowns more political than medically necessary? Oh! And does the Big Ten have egg on its face for shutting down and now opening back up?
