I think that is a good comparison based on my filtered recollection of Tarkenton, who was in his prime a little before my recollection. Seeing him on video, though, does make the Book comparison seem pretty good. Fran was a fairly small guy too, . . right?

  • I agree with Fowler's comparison of Book to Tarkenton & Staubach regarding " back yard " scrambles. [NT] - Irishize - 12:46pm 11/30/20 (10) [View All]

      • One big difference, Tarkenton had a successful NFL career - WoodstockIrish - 2:16pm 12/2/20
      • Fran was smaller, a little more dodgy, with a weaker arm, but piled up great statistics because - THEISMANCARR - 5:03pm 11/30/20

      • No, Archie had as much physical ability as anyone. Great arm, speed, toughness but he was saddled - THEISMANCARR - 5:08pm 11/30/20
      • I'll buy that. Archie's from the MS Delta, so it was fitting to hear the blues with his highlights. [NT] - Irishize - 1:29pm 11/30/20
        • Love me some Delta! [NT] - Frankx - 3:29pm 11/30/20
