I think the nature of their positions and how they attack so ferociously is more of a factor

if that unfortunate circumstance happens where a player gets it in the head because both are trying to be aggressive. I really think targeting call is too often called because it is mostly unintentional. If the officials could determinate malicious intent instead of aggressive play it would be better utilized. The egregious one not called on the Texas guy that ruined Tori Hunter's career was the most obvious one I ever saw that should have been called and wasn't. You can often see how a guy reacts initially as to whether it was malicious or not. In the case of Kyle Hamilton, he just got caught in the wrong position making in aggressive tackle like he so often does and though it was the right call I don't think the intent was there.

One that happened in our favor was the 2015 bowl game when Kizer threw an interception to Ohio State and he was blocked by Joey Bosa in the gut and they threw Bosa out of the game, saved Kizer a foolish interception, and eliminated a guy is was killing us to that point.

  • Biggest concern for Saturday? Mine is Lawrence’s running ability on options. Must stay disciplined. [NT] - jray - 5:47pm 12/17/20 (15) [View All]
    • They might let him run early as a surprise factor like Dabo did with Watson early in the 2015 game - THEISMANCARR - 5:02pm 12/18/20
    • Our D giving up 402 passing yards the first time we played them w/o Lawrence. [NT] - whatsamataU - 9:43am 12/18/20
    • His running in the playoff semifinal changed the tenor of a tight defensive battle. [NT] - lacan - 6:05pm 12/17/20
    • Sunshine's biggest concern is that he may get killed by JOK while running. [NT] - NDavenue - 5:50pm 12/17/20
      • I hate to say this, but JOK or Kyle will probably get flagged for targeting changing the complexion - iairishcheeks - 7:35pm 12/17/20

          • A prediction that ACC officials will still screw us where they can... - TakethetrainKnute - 9:42am 12/18/20

      • Just remember how OSU took out Jaylon Smith. I would hope Dabo is above the Buckeyes level. [NT] - BaronVonZemo - 7:33pm 12/17/20

              • Well he pushed him twice after the play was over. Totally unnecessary and the only Ohio State player - THEISMANCARR - 2:03am 12/18/20
