Yes, if done wrong you do incur a lot of cost. YouTube TV has more sports and most anything you'd
really want to watch. Though they have jacked the price all in internet + youtube is around $100.
There is also an app that will get you your locals that can run through Roku if that is an issue - www.locast.org
To your point the last year has been much more unfavorable than in prior years as TV providers lost so many it's created a ton of streamer copy cats. But, you can't really watch all that stuff anyway so I feel like it's helping us better pick where we really want to spend our time and money.
