I'm not saying Rees is an offensive mastermind yet, but I really feel like he figured that one out. Knew the whole time he was QB that they could have handed the damn ball off and ran over most of the teams they played. That's where it starts. Ohio State gets it. They run over 10 out of 12 teams they play every year. The other two or three games they open it up with stuff no one's ever seen. But it starts with kicking some ass and running over teams. If you can't do that, you can't belong. It's that simple. And ND has the horses to get it done just like OSU.
You have to match the physicality. We did, for the first time since Holtz, what Holtz called "putting a Riddell on somebody and being the most physical team in the country until the whistle blows." We did that this year and we need to keep doing it. Add the dynamic weapons on the outside (which we have on campus already) and we're there.
I'm so happy to see this.
