You're assuming far too much about the scoring drives. The balance of attack is what you're looking for and not the stuff in garbage time.

The Tide have a great run game with tremendous RB's - they also have great WR's and usually of late, a QB who can get the ball to them -
unlike ND. Now suddenly, ND has a couple of decent RB's and a ton of WR's - the only thing missing is a QB who can get it downfield and
a OC who can design plays and an attack each week to score points.

No one said anything about running the clock down - though it's always a good thing when winning in a close game. And stop with the RPO
lesson. You miss read my post is what you're doing.

    • Absolutely. It's about time for Kelly and I think Rees is the one that convinced him. - tky21 - 9:15pm 3/28/21

    • With the 3 returning backs they have, and if O Line is good they should be run first. [NT] - Frankx - 1:20pm 3/28/21

        • Right - he's leading everyone on - His teams can absolutely run the ball - they did - jimbasil - 3:03pm 3/28/21
          • Exactly. Alabama and OSU start with big backs and a power running game. That's the model. Copy it. [NT] - tky21 - 9:20pm 3/28/21
            • Alabama: PYDS/G 358.2 (3RD OVERALL); RYDS/G 183.5 (47TH OVERALL). Indeed, copy it. [NT] - lacan - 1:57pm 3/29/21

              • How much of that was RPO - passes to the RB in the backfield - and how much of these passes were - jimbasil - 6:43pm 3/29/21
                • RPOs are not about throwing to backs in the backfield. - lacan - 8:08pm 3/29/21
