Riley Leonard had ample protection on a large percentage of his dropbacks. So pass protection is not the issue, nor is the O line.
The coaches need to recognize the obvious that Leonard is not the right QB to lead this team. Steve Angeli has mostly played very well when given a chance. Name him the starter and then the WRs can run more dynamic routes instead of this 5-yard passing to stationary receivers stuff. In turn, the running game gets opened up.
Defense is not the problem. I'm not sure how much input Freeman gives to Denbrock but continuing to play Leonard is a huge mistake.
