This pretentious, self-absorbed jackass just can't help himself. He craves the attention.

Here he opens himself up to Yahoo's Ross Dellenger (a very good college football writer, IMO) to give a behind the scenes peak into how the 12 team system came to be. I can only imagine the reaction from the others when Jack raised his hand and proposed that Notre Dame should be penalized for being independent.

Silly me - I thought our AD should work on our behalf.

Perhaps no one on the working group compromised as much as Swarbrick. As an independent, the Irish will not have the opportunity to ever land a first-round bye. It’s a tradeoff, he says, for not having to play a league championship game.

“I said to the room, ‘Let’s have the byes just go to conference champions, and they all looked at me like I was crazy,’” he recalls.
