For starters, an extra game increases risk of injury to key players, above and beyond having no opportunity to rest.

It is also doubtful the loser of a conference championship will maintain whatever seeding they currently hold today, particularly if they lose in decisive fashion.

Sure, nice to have “action” next weekend, but the committee is not turning a blind eye to these games. If so, announce the 12 teams and seeding today.
