Why wouldn't you just take the top 16-seeded teams? Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.

Seriously. Do away with the conference championship nonsense. Take the top 16 seeded teams. Start play before XMAS. Give home field advantage in first round. Use the major bowl games for the second round.

This doesn't need to be that difficult.
