It's complicated.

This is shaping up to be a very deep QB draft class without a corresponding number of QB-needy teams. Meanwhile, NIL money and the option of another year in school substantially reduce the downside of staying.

If CJ is ranked among the top four QBs, he's gone. If he's sixth or lower, he has a compelling reason to stay—especially since, even if his stock falls next year, he'd still have another year to rebuild it.

The tricky decision comes if he's viewed as the fifth-best QB, just a step behind the top four. That's where the difference between late-first-round money and mid-second-round money makes declaring a much tougher call.
