Administrators of those schools should be ashamed of themselves

No matter what they say, the costs are passed on to students (and their parents).

Hopefully they will learn that guaranteed contracts should not ever be given to coaches. They should be made to earn their money - or get the hell out. It is part of the bidding wars...but they would find plenty of good candidates willing to accept no guaranteed money, if they acted together.
