Nice to have a true NT ready to play early

Parks is already a big guy at 305 lbs, and has a thick frame. He can easily add another 15 pounds of muscle without losing that good speed. When he gets on campus in 2027, he could very well be ready to play significant minutes.

I haven't given up on Sean Sevillano, but he has been awfully quiet ever since that ankle injury. For this season, I'm guessing that it's going to be Onye and Gray rotating in at the NT position.

Come to think of it, the last time we actually had a true nose tackle playing for us was Jerry Tillery in 2018. Every year since then, we've been plugging in 3 technique DT's at the NT position.

2019-2021: Kurt Hinish, played at 295 lbs as a 5th year senior, but was significantly lighter than that for most of his time at ND.
2022-2024: Howard Cross, played at 285 lbs, and that's being rather generous.
2025: Donovan Hinish, played at 275 lbs, and that was also being rather generous.

I'm not knocking those guys. They were good players for sure, and all three of them did a decent job, punching above their weight classes (especially Donovan Hinish), but you could see their getting worn down as the season progressed.
