I want to avoid the 3 pages of subject-only posts.
I agree; it pushes down all the discussion threads, and creates a ton of noise. Here's the current line of thinking. We'll have two options for people...
1 - There's a new chat room that rolled out several months ago, that we haven't announced yet. It's linked at the top of the board, and I'll post about it this week. I think it's an improvement over the old one.
2 - I'm planning to give the "Gameday" thread a try this weekend. I'll create the thread prior to the game, and then we'll lock the forum to new threads a couple hours leading into (and following) the game. Posters will be able to reply to the Gameday thread and any other existing thread on the forum. Our new format makes this more viable, because I can limit the number of replies that are displayed, without having a massive thread that runs off the board and screws up the formatting.
I'm not a fan of creating new boards, because of our past experiences with them. I'm sure there are posters who remember the Polly, the old Gameday Board, and the "Fantasy Sports" board. All busts.
